Description: The project involves a program of industrial investments to improve and update the production facilities of SALARS S.p.A., the only Italian company authorized to produce narcotic active pharmaceutical ingredients.
The revamping includes purchase and installation of latest generation machinery and equipment, including anchor reactors, centrifuges, static dryers, Buchner filters, hydrogenators, and a pilot plant, as well as upgrades of utilities (UTA, glycol system, boiler).
The project is carried out through three operational phases: detailed engineering and design, project management, and installation with start-up test.
Main objectives are to eliminate production bottlenecks in the centrifugation and drying phases and increase production capacity.
The project adopts Process Analytical Technology (PAT) principles recommended by EMA and FDA to optimize production processes through digitalization, continuous quality monitoring, and reduction of energy consumption.
The total investment amounts to €2.13 million, of which €1.98 million is for machinery and equipment and €150,000 is for building works and plant engineering systems, with a delivery time of 15 months.
